The solution is simple. As long as the quality is OK it doesn't matter what format you record and save in as long as you can play it back on your PC.
Play back the file with whatever app is required, feed your PC sound card output into its input (or alternatively use something like "Virtual Audio Cable") and use MMSSTV (or any other such program) as normal.

The real problem at this point is format. The sstv software uses an odd encoding. I can't find any converters.(from .wav to .mmv) What to do..
