The AO-7 pass just concluded here reached maximum elevation of 31 degrees to the wesf of my QTH (DM41lu), and the satellite was in Mode V/A (also called Mode A). With about 100 watts EIRP my downlink signal was RST 589 but I had the passband to myself. Nothing but me and the beacon, which was RST 579.
My V/A receiving system at this QTH is nothing elaborate, just a Ten-Tec Argonaut V radio and a Hy-Gain AV620 vertical antenna.
AO-7 is likely to be in Mode V/A for much of SKN. Hope to work you there.
