I'm still reeling from taking one of the first 7610's delivered. The pre-amp 1 and 2 suppressed the incoming signals. It had to go back to Icom's main repair facility ....at my expense. They did find a cold solder joint in the pre-amp circuit and did return the radio pre-paid. But, I still had to pay the 'to them' shipping! However, it is a very fine radio! 73 George WA5KBH

I agree it’s a bit of a gamble and I generally wait a while, but I have no decent satellite rig now and I’ll take my chances.

Since it is the first icom vhf/uhf sdr radio and considering the
previous one (910) was released several years ago I would suggested to wait before bugs are resolved.
From previous experiences the first units would have, likely, issues
solved later on.
I don’t like to be a beta tester, especially buying the units full
price, we all experienced the icom units de pricing after the first 8/10 months (7610 docet)

The Icom IC-9700 will be released in January 2019 in Japan for 188,000 yen ($1,657 USD).

Using the IC-9700 and IC-7300 creates an ideal, compact radio station covering the HF, 144, 430 and 1200 MHz bands."
