The short answer is yes, MixW works fine for making contacts via the ISS.
The long answer is that you will need to do your homework to properly configure MixW. To my knowledge, there is no tutorial.
I have mine setup and working properly. A few hints: 1 - Set the packet modem properly (not setup for HF 300) 2 - Ensure your UNPROTO is set to ARISS 3 - Most importantly, make sure your callsign is configured in all the right places (there are several)
I'd suggest you test the MixW 1200 packet setup on your local VHF frequency (such as 144.39 MHz for APRS.)
I prefer using UISS but MixW will be fine.

Has anyone used MixW software to receive the SSTV transmissions from the Space Station? How about using MixW to send and receive packet from the Space Station?
If the answer is yes to either question, can you please send info on setting up the MixW to do these things, or send a link to the instructions for setting up MixW to do these things?
Thank you!!
