Is the only difference between the "early model" and "more recent model" the firmware version, or are there other differences? I am curious because I believe I have the same DJ-G7 version as Drew since I got mine at Dayton. I have not updated the firmware on mine as I don't have the computer cable ERW-7 yet. I haven't used my DJ-G7 much on the satellites except as a TX radio because my impression of the RX (without transmitting) is that it is not as sensitive as my other two handhelds, but maybe it is time to upgrade the firmware.

FWIW, Drew and I ran two DJ-G7's in full duplex mode into a comms tests set, one was Drew's very early model and mine was a more recent model. We also took the opportunity to test a TH-D7.
We ran the tests using AO-51's uplink and downlink frequencies. Drew has the actual figures, but as I remember it they were like this:
Early DJ-G7 15dB desense Later DJ-G7 5dB desense TH-D7 1dB desense
The test involved adjusting receive signal power until we had a 12dB SINAD measurement, first without transmitting then while holding the radio's PTT.
