Apologies to anyone who has been listening for GB0OO.
Robert G8ATE has been unwell, and I have been heavily commited at work and not able to get on the sats. Robert is feeling a little better and will try to get on in the next day or so. In the meantime, when you work the sats, give a thought to the poiners of Oscar1 and their major achievement. The first non governmental payload to go into space was designed and built, by and for, radio hams. Its a tradition that makes me proud to hold a callsign.

Very good, John, Rob said he was a bit under the wx.
But just the fact that the callsign exists is a tribute to those early hamsat pioneers....If some of the present users don't appreciate those pioneers, at least England doing something about it..Congrats...
Some AMSAT-NA members act as tho they invented satellite amateur radio and swept Project Oscar under the rug!! So be it. The facts are there.
I'm green with envy that or present leo's don't allow a direct contact with that callsign. So every contact I make, I mention the callsign, in the very spirit of the event.
Congrats to all of you in G-land that made this possible...
Third world coming up for the USA, unless we get off our duffs in a lot of todays technology....
Have a Merry Christmas, and pse pass that on to GB0O1
