A TNC is basically a glorified modem. As such, it doesn't care what OS is running on the computer - DOS, XP, Vista, Linux, Mac OS X, etc, or even whether you use a computer at all: a TNC will even work with a dumb terminal.

Hello to all,
I have a PacComm TINY-2 MK-2 TNC and would like to use it for ISS Packet.
My question is: Can I use it with a computer running MS Windows XP, or do I need a DOS based OS to use this type TNC?
What software is necessary to run on Windows XP and possible APRS?
Thanks in advance, Peter, NH6VB _______________________________________________ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? Join now to support the amateur satellite program! Subscription settings: http://amsat.org/mailman/listinfo/amsat-bb
