For a one radio solution, find a clean TH-D7. Mine works great after many years. Full duplex. It also has packet so you can digipeat over ISS and other dig sats.

What Clint said.  When I go HT-portable, I use an FT3D and an older Yaesu HT (VX8, shares the same batteries).  Antenna is a modified (carbon fiber boom) Arrow.  I use a tripod, you don't have to.  Good luck!

Use your better HT's RX sensitivity, and use a second HT for TX.

Ideas at work-sat.com for you!

I want to get back on the satellites using an HT.  What are some options for handheld/HT radios?  I have an Yaesu Ft5dr but I read its not full duplex.  It seems like the Kenwood D74 has been discontinued as HRO and DX Engineering both dont have the radio in stock.  I live in an HOA neighborhood so an antenna array is not an option.
