Craig,

I want to preface that I do not own a TS-2000 and am not totally familiar with the specifics of it's operation.

9600 baud FSK operation requires a whole different method of interfacing than what you describe above for normal 1200 baud packet and HF digital modes.  In the case of 1200 baud packet, you are sending two different audio tones to represent a 1 and a 0.  For the higher speed packet modes, you are not sending audio tones out the the radio, but shifting the frequency to specific values to represent a 1 and a 0.  To do this with a soundcard interface, you must bypass all the audio shaping characteristics of the 'microphone' input and have direct access to the modulator with nice flat response nearly all the way down to DC.

If you have audio transformers in the line, or are feeding it into a radio port that shapes the audio, it will not work very well.  The Signalink indicates it has 600 ohm outputs which might suggest audio transformers in it, and the ACC2 port in the TS-2000 manual indicates it only provides a microphone input.  This is probably distorting the transmit.

The same applies on the receive that you need clean raw 'discrimnator' audio that doesn't have any filtering or shaping of the audio that makes it sound pleasing.

I'm not sure the TS-2000 supplies that either looking at the manual.

I do see that even the non X versions of the TS-2000 may have an internal 9600 baud TNC which is accessible on the serial port on the back.  That internal TNC should be compatible with FS-3, so you may just need to change from the soundmodem to the internal TNC to get success.  If that is not an option, it may require modification of the radio to tap into the points discussed above.

Hopefully this points you in a good direction.

In spite of all of Christy KB6LTY’s generous assistance, I still am unable to digipeat through FS-3 using my TS-2000x, signalink, Soundmodem-hs, and UISS.  I have no difficulty dig’g over ISS and I routinely work SSB on all of the linear sats. Clearly operator error going on.

If you are using the same setup (or a TS2000 non-“x”), would you mind posting your relevant TS2000 menu settings.

Thank you in advance.
