The Software Orbitron, allows Sun tracking as an option, assuming your rotator system is compatable with this software. Rather than tracking a satellite you can change it to track the sun/moon, in the settings page It connects via WiSPDDE software to the rotator system.

You then need a way of measuring the noise when pointed at the sun and pointed away from the sun.

Measure the noise between the preamplifier and the Kenwood radio, but be careful of any DC power on the cable to power the pre-amplifier. The spectrum analyser should be OK for this job.
