Good starting point may be to have a look at the ThumbSat project. When I can find the time, I plan to build one.

Hello All, I am now living in an apartment for the next year or so, then moving into a RV full time on semi-retirement. I plan to build my downlink out of a RTL-SDR dongle LNA and a couple of short (2ft long) yagi antennas. I would like to also perform automatic tracking via an Arduino and a couple of Easy driver cards and stepper motors So far, so good. What I am wondering about is there an integrated software program that will allow for reception of the downlink signal with doppler correction, control of the unlink frequency, and position control of the rotators. The simple way would be to run separate software for each, but I would like to be able to do all of this in a single, compact unit. Right now, I am thinking about Simon's SDR-RADIO V3, but I am having issues with my dongle staying stable on it for more than 2 seconds. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated 73,James, AA5AO
