Hi!
I will be on the road for the next few days starting tomorrow (Wednesday, 18th) afternoon. I will visit friends in southern California and have an AMSAT table at the two-day Yuma (Arizona) hamfest on 20-21 February 2009. Over the next few days, including the two days at the hamfest, I hope to be on the FM satellites (AO-51, SO-50) as well as VO-52 andFO-29.
For Wednesday evening, depending on how fast I can get on the highway away from Phoenix, I might be on the late-afternoon/early-evening AO-51 and SO-50 passes from DM22 or maybe on the DM22/DM32 boundary. I hope to be on various passes from somewhere in DM22 on Thursday (19th) before the hamfest, as well as from the hamfest (grid DM22qq) on Friday (20th) and Saturday (21st). On Sunday (22nd) and on my drive home on Monday (23rd), I should be able to work passes from DM22 and/or other nearby grids.
In order to honor the request by Drew KO4MA regarding the second AO-51 repeater on 145.880/435.150 MHz FM for use by the K5D Desecheo Island DXpedition, I will stay on the primary 145.920/435.300 MHz FM repeater when I am on AO-51 over the next few days. When I am on VO-52, I will try to be around 145.910-145.915 MHz USB. For FO-29, I will try to be somewhere around 145.960 MHz USB +/-.
During this trip, I will have access to Internet. I will try to post updates to my planned travels over the next few days. After I return home, I will print QSL cards and be happy to confirm contacts I make from wherever I operate from during this trip. As many of you may remember from my trips in 2008, I am happy to work as many stations as possible during the passes I work from other locations. It's fun to combine my travels with satellite operating. :-)
