[amsat-bb] Verticals and such on SSB birds

I have found firsthand that verticals, J poles, and the like work pretty good on FM satellites. How well do these same antennas work on the SSB satellites? Would they make VO52 usable? That seems to be the easiest of the SSB sats to get into. What about FO29?
