I use a Yaesu FT-530. Full duplex and works very well. I've got 200 grids in about six months. You can still get new battery packs for it from third-party sources or just use an AA shell and fill it with your own rechargeables. They come up on eBay regularly.

Hi All, trying to get back on after a while of not being active. Wondering if there are any handheld preferences and or availability sinceĀ  my tried and trusted W32a Icoms.I used them for a while but sold when I moved. Someone mentioned the Kenwood TH D72 also. Just wondering if anything else for portable. I am using my TS-2000 for linear. Thanks es 73 Joe KI4TZ
