With the delay in the Atlantis launch, I was wondering if
PCSAT-2 has
already been turned off for good, or if it has a few more days of operations left?
PCSAT2 is alive and well. We are still operating the VOICE SYSTEM DOWNLINK on most passes when there is a NET-CONTROL in the footprint. You can hear the VOICE downlink on 437.975. We will continue to operate until we are forced to shut down for EVA's or removal.
See: http://www.ew.usna.edu/~bruninga/pec/pc2ops.html
Also the PSK-31 10m uplink to 2m donwlink transponder is also enabled. Though no one has heard any uplink since the uplink systems seems to have gone soft after the first month in orbit. But the downlink is strong.
Anyone can bring up the 10m transponder by sending a 1200 baud connect request to "PCSAT2" on the 145.825 uplink. The downlink is on 435.275. It will remain up for 1 minute after your connect. We got a report this morning of a test last night by W5MF and K5WH with 800W on 29.4 uplink without success.
