RF connectors are "N". The single pin animals (for power and signal) are feed through capacitors. Helps keep noise and bad stuff out of the power supply/signal input chain. Less of a mess to deal with at RF.
'PQL makes nice kits. Well documented. Currently building my way to a pair of amps (VHF and UHF) for the B210.
The ultimate amp control board will do many of the amp control things natively. SWR sense, lockout, sequence (DC power, bias, RF power and holdoff, in that order and reverse for unkey)
Relatively inexpensive to buy this kit. Slightly painful to build as it's SMD. Ring magnifier at a minimum. Best with a stereo microscope. The right tools make the job almost painless.
His analog method of doing timing for the control board is pretty neat. Spent a few hours contemplating that circuit.
Uses an LM35 to do temperature sensing. My amps run out on the edge. Best place to run (cleanest) them per the data sheet. Does mean that there's not a lot of headroom for errors and oopsies.
Using VI cor 24VDC in-> 12V 5A bricks to run the chips and electronics. Paneltronics has 24V 5A circuit breakers to stop any power supply craziiness.
I used Phoenix Mecanno enclosures with integral card slots. Not quite as pretty as a custom milled enclosure.

Hello!
Not being especially familiar with microwave equipment, I came across a type of connection which is currently a mystery to me. I know it is a connection, but I'm not sure if it is a connector.
In seeing pictures of some microwave PA's, sometimes a fine pin or pins are on the chassis for voltage connection. But, is it a connector? If so, what kind? (with that I can Google my way to more information)
I'm guessing the connection is special to ensure insulation and the integrity of chassis shielding(?), but I can't seem to find the mating female connector (if that pin is indeed a connector and not just a connection).
I'm guessing the BB won't allow images inside a message, so there are some examples at https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/150-w-ssb-23cm-1-2ghz-amplifier-plu s-extras.596138/ (scroll down over half way).
Not being even close to needing an amp-I just got my Arrow ant. but haven't even make a contact yet <grin>-I still must have interest or I wouldn't be daydreaming by looking at antennas, LNA's, transverters, and PA's online.
Thank you!
