I'm currently wondering if there is a guideline in general to select filter components so that they are realistic / common part values and still get the performance desired? The calculations might result in exact values for C, R, and might not include accommodation for the C* and R* of the PCB traces, or of the associated wiring - what are practical steps to allow for real world filter construction.
Also - suddenly I am wondering if I shouldn't be looking for a vendor who supplies/manufacturers pre-designed filter blocks for inclusion in my projects. Mouser?

I am brewing a satellite receiver. The 67 Hz CTCSS tone is quite annoying. Is there anyway to easily filter it out?
How about a simple high-pass filter?
