That is SO worth doing!
A few years ago I was doing a satellite demo at the Boy Scout "Camporall" as K9BSA, working the ISS repeater, when one of the astronauts picked up the mic and said "hi" to the scouts. You should have seen their faces! He spent the last few minutes of the pass telling them what it was like up there.
There had to be more than 50 scouts trying to crowd around the radio to hear him...

Hi all,
No big grid expedition, EM13 rather than normal EM12, but will be running some demonstrations of Amateur Satellite operations from a large Boy Scout Merit Badge College in Plano, Texas while I am participating in helping with the Radio Merit Badge program. Look for me, N5HYP on the mid day passes of SO-50 and AO-27. Please call N5HYP. Hopefully we can show a few Scouts about the challenge and fun of Amateur Radio through this branch of Ham Radio as well.
