Amazing performance by AO-92s "Downshifter" experiment, IMO. We did not expect that degree of sensitivity through the UHF RX antenna, hence the relatively hefty power (PEP) recommendation prior to launch which was quickly dialed back when we tested during commissioning, and corroborated by several reports of user QSOs with an HT. Another great design contribution by Engineering volunteer John Klingelhoeffer, WB4LNM.
