Hi John, Yeah you're probably right. Looking back on the Def Con 15 presentations that they sent out on DVD and posted on the Internet someone did a pretty good job of merging video with the presentation and the audio. Not being in that field one can only guess what kind of hardware/software they were using.
Audio files would be better than nothing. Heck, I could load them up on a CD and listen to them to and from work!

To do a reasonable job of producing a DVD video of each presentation is quite a task - It takes more than simply pointing a video camera at the slides which are often unreadable or the audio is c$£p. It would be better to get a simple audio recording and then listen to that whilst looking at still images of the slides.
At the AMSAT-UK colloquium this year I collected together as many of the presentations as I could and converted each to a format viewable as a slide show in a web browser. I'd liked to have all the presentations and if I'd managed to get it set up the Audio recordings as well.
