If anyone wants to try using the ax5043, see if ONSEMI has released their newer SDK.  When I was finishing up the RT-IHU code, they announced a new SDK that would make it easier to develop ax5043 code for processors other than the ONSEMI ones.

I agree with the author's sentiments: GNURadio and the associated RF
hardware attached to the PC is powerful, but it is also cumbersome to
use in the field.

The radio chip (AX5043) is used in the current RT-IHU design for the
GOLF series, btw.

Perhaps this will spark ideas... :-)
