I gave a speech to the SpaceX internal radio DSP group some years ago. There are lots of hams there. Unfortunately, they are not well able to talk about their work or be contacts for SpaceX to outsiders, and nor will you if you get hired. The Falcon 9 carries several USRP-based radios and the flight-computer OS is Linux - their own distribution. Other Open Source software is heavily used by SpaceX. The mission control systems are built on LabView (proprietary). I got a factory floor tour and saw several interesting space things they had on hand.
