Domenico and All,
It was a solid QSO with I8CVS on FO-29 from NYC (FN30). You were very strong; it was a perfect pass, even though it was a short window between us. I only heard 1 Eu stn on the next pass, which was a long pass with lots of time for N. Eu.
We might be able to try again on Monday, but the wx forecast is bad just now. If that turns out to be true, it won't be possible to get the gear outside. We will have to wait until Monday morning here to see. I will send you an email then to let you know if it's possible.
Maybe someone on the bb can tell me why I can send messages to the bb, but don't ever get others' messages as email. I must check the website to look at messages. Should I just unsubscribe and then subscribe again?
Another question: I've had very little success on AO-7 using just 5 watts and 7el on the uplink, 3 el and a preamp on the downlink. Would it be a good investment to get a 20 watt amp for 70cm? Would it make a big difference? A 20 watt amp can be done portable, but not more than that.
FO-29 is a great bird with very little activity, at least that I can hear. Being able to work I8CVS with a simple portable stn. is Exhibit A.
