I am not an interested party, but, one who repairs equipment. Newer is not better if longevity is the goal. Older equipment performs very well and most is repairable. If you newfangled super processor controlled rig gets tingled by a lightning strike a block away and the processor dies, you have a thousand dollar door stop.
Just my opinion as I have been asked to repair a lot of microprocessor controlled rigs and specialized parts are not available.
