And a number of 'non-satellite' VK hams got a huge buzz out of easily copying the down link directly - rare to have an ARISS pass at a civilised hour in VK. Observing the reaction of local club members, I reckon voice transmissions from the ISS have a disproportionately positive effect in promoting interest in amateur satellites. Is the promotional value of the ISS voice repeater underestimated?
