Unfortunately, no. Kenwood even admits this by mentioning it in the rig's manual.

You can ever-so-slightly mitigate its effect by a) keeping the antenna away from the transmitter (because it will pick up the birdie as a transmitted signal!); b) doing lots of preamping before the rig; c) using the narrow FM mode on receive. But it's still nasty.
