Speaking of CW beacons, I tried to copy the CW beacon from CAS-4B this morning and all I found was a continuous tone/carrier. It was doppler shifting so I assume I was hearing (and watching on waterfall) the satellite but no CW. Is this normal? Does it just send code on certain occasions? Steve AI9IN

I noticed this as well, about a week or two ago. The very next pass, the CW was back on. Transponder operation didn't seem to be affected at all.
