Is it XW-2 or XM-2 or both
In the last “Revisions to AMSAT KEP Distribution” some of the CAS-3 satellites are named XW and some XM.
The document that came out from CAMSAT named them all XW.
So which is it and why?

Those are just typos. They are all named XW, short for 'XiWang' ('Hope' in English). The same typos are in the keps list.
