Hello everybody.
I was wondering if anybody has experimented with the FLEXI RADIO Software Defined Radios on satellites. I know the SDR 5000 can do dual receive, but can cross-band full duplex be done as well?
Grateful for any wisdom.

It should be trivial to do if you have the transverters. The Flex5000 is capable of full duplex "Out Of The Box", and the PowerSDR software has provisions for use with more than one transverter. Jim KQ6EA

Hi,
I talked with the Flex guys at Pittsburg about that. They were doing some tweaks in the full duplex operation. You can used external transverters, but I was told that fully integrated ones will be available 3rd qtr this year. Needless to say, I am expecting to return from Atlanta with an order number, if not a rig, if they come through.

Hello Piero, Robin, VE3FRH has two Flex radios and is most impressed with them. He did an audio -visual presentation at our Club in Australia a few weeks ago and is convinced this is the way of the future. After hearing him speak on this I was quite impressed this their capabilities.

They are indeed very nice radios!
However, they are not working on VHF or UHF. The only option is to use a transverter which is kind of funny since the whole idea was to get away from "hardware" and do it in "software". I really hope Flex would design a VHF, UHF SDR for satellite operation. That would be a fantastic.
