Thanks for the heads-up, AO-109 has now the right NORAD ID in SatNOGS.

Sorry for the long text bellow, TL;DR the temporary NORAD ID is changed, there was a delay due to the AO-109 issues and the process we follow for identification, we are working on a solution to avoid in the future using temporary NORAD IDs.

Just to give some background, due to several mis-identifications in the past, in SatNOGS project we follow the process I describe bellow for identifying a satellite:

1. We add a satellite with a temporary NORAD ID with a number over 99000

2. We try to track the object with preliminary TLE sets and generate our own if we get any signal and if there aren't any other TLE sets available, for example from the team or the satellite itself.

3. When there are published TLE sets in space-track.org for the launch objects, we try to fit the satellite to the objects using if we have received signals in observations of our community. Three notes here:

a) Until we have a solid identification, we don't change the NORAD ID but we follow it. By following it, we mean that we use the TLE set of an object for our observations but keep the temporary NORAD ID in SatNOGS DB.

b) TLE sets sometimes are in TBA status (To Be Assigned), this means that are not finalized, so we follow them if they fit the received signals but we don't identify the satellites until they are assigned. We have seen cases were objects have been swapped during the assignment process in space-track.org.

c) In case we don't have received any signal we try to find external sources for following a TLE set/object in order to have more chances to receive it. If there aren't external sources then we choose randomly to follow one of the NORAD IDs of the launch that makes sense.

So, in the case of AO-109, due to the issues that it had in the first days after the deployment, we didn't manage to receive it. However we followed the external suggestions for TLE sets, with the last one to be the object with NORAD ID 47311.

We kept the temporary NORAD ID but followed the TLE sets of 47311. I've checked SatNOGS Network's observations and there are several ones with signal from AO-109[1] which makes the identification solid, so the NORAD ID is now changed to 47311 in SatNOGS DB.

We have implemented and soon it will be in production, a solution that will help us to avoid using temporary NORAD IDs in the future. This will be done by assigning a Satellite ID to each of the satellites in SatNOGS DB that it doesn't change and it will be unique unlike NORAD ID. More details can be found in the related issue in our repositories[2].

I have noticed that nasabare has a catalogue number as 47311 but SATNOGS has it as 99758 but their KEP file shows 47311.

Anyone have a SATNOGS connection to get this corrected ?
