Re: [amsat-bb] Pratham: IITB Student Satellite
Well,
I'm hearing (and seeing) the CW beacon. There's a lot of chirp but it's definitely your satellite. I'll listen on the next pass which goes much higher.

19:34z pass... Interesting. I didn't hear Pratham until the towards the end of the 9-degree pass, but accidentally managed to catch Duchifat going by...
Audio at: http://home.wavecable.com/~ko6th/capture.wav
This is all manually controlled for doppler, so a bit of a mess from that perspective. Pratham's signal begins about 1:30 into the recording; same chirpy CW as before. Dutchifat CW ID starts at 22 seconds, with a burst of packet after that. As a reference, the local birdie you hear at the start of the recording is at about 145.981.6.

Thank you all so much for such prompt replies!! I am happy to say that we have recieved news of beacon reception from various sources and this can confidently say that the satellite is active an finctioning! Though we havent been able to hear anything on our ground station but are trying regularly for the same. We request you all to kindly keep tracking our satellite and if possible try receiving the downlonk telemetry with the following specs:
Modulation: FSK Frequency: 437.455 MHz Transmitted power: 60 mW To be switched on over India and France
Please do reply to us if you receive anything. We really appreciate all your help. Thanks a lot.
73 Kind regards, Team Pratham.

I was not sure yesterday evening, with MOVE-1, Duchifat and AO-73 all around, but no doubt, PRATHAM is definitely alive. Congratulations ! The CW speed is fairly high, a little bit chirpy, all as we like. No ? :-) As I decode with my poor little human ham ears, I don't know exactly, but I would say 40 wpm, something like that. A piece of my record of the pass over western Europe, orbit nr 43 this morning at about 1030 UTC, is here (with a GPA in the attic, the good old FCD-Pro+, Debian-Linux, Gqrx/GPredict): http://f5yg.pagesperso-orange.fr/incoming/PRATHAM_orb43_29sep2016.mp3 text is, of course, "VU2BUG PRATHAM IIT BOMBAY STUDENT SATELLITE" repetitively. The 2016-059C tle was used to compensate the Doppler drift and, as you can hear, it's still not so accurate for the moment. But anyways...
Have a nice day, 73 !
