Folks,
If I read this right, the satellite will not be "on" during the pass over my home:
AO27 schedule UTC
Sat Nov 10 19:19:57 2007 Digital Med
Sat Nov 10 19:20:17 2007 Analogue Med
Sat Nov 10 19:27:17 2007 Digital Med
Sat Nov 10 19:28:17 2007 OFF
Sat Nov 10 21:00:46 2007 Digital Med
Sat Nov 10 21:01:06 2007 Analogue Med
Sat Nov 10 21:08:06 2007 Digital Med
Sat Nov 10 21:09:06 2007 OFF
The pass over my house is listed on Orbitron as happening at 20:59 UTC.
Does my figuring make sense?
Thanks,
Ed

Ed,
The satellite is on over the continental U.S. on ascending passes (S to N). If the satellite's clock is perfectly synchronized with the schedule (which it usually isn't - sometimes it is a minute or a few off), you would expect to initially hear silence at 20:59, one minute of digital telemetry starting at 21:00:46, seven minutes of the FM repeater starting at 21:01:06, and then another minute of digital telemetry starting at 21:08:06.

Hi Ed,
Is that time in Orbitron the start of your pass, as the on time at 21:01 is for 7 mins... if its the start time then you should get almost the full 7 mins over your house?
Hope that helps..
Chris

It won't be when it first "appears" at your horizon but it will go to the Digital Med then Analogue Med during the pass. Orbitron should give you the total time you'll "see" the satellite.
You'll initially hear silence, then digital for 1 minute then you should hopefully hear voice.
Hope that helps!

Ed, From what I see, the satellite is not due again over your QTH until 02:15 UTC. The schedule does not show AO-27 on at that time. 73, Dee, NB2F NJ AMSAT Co-ordinator
