Wouxun brought a couple demo models to IWCE last month. They slapped FCC ID numbers on them from another radio ...

The only dealer on the planet that I would personally purchase anything "Wouxun" is Powerwerx.com. Rn by hams, and they care. And they have the "clout" with Wouxun to get things done (like firmware updates, cosmetic and other improvements). The fact that they - at least at this time - are not excited about this ris in interesting.

And, of course, I do not see this rig on the FCC's OET site for certification for anything.

If the Kenwood is full-duplex, why don't they claim that anywhere in their literature?

I ask about that yearly at Dayton. The answers, when not blank expressions, are along the lines of "Satellite operators already know this, and are a tiny fraction of our market compared to APRS." Obviously my suggestion that adding the phrase "Full Duplex Satellite Capable" might increase that fraction has fallen on deaf ears.

Take a look at page 38 of the above manual PDF. It does it, they just don't realize what this particular feature means to us...
