Hello all, getting back into portable FM work and trying to decipher why the apps show different AOS.. I have three different ones and they all appear to have different times just curious which one is actually accurate since I don't have my computer with me to look at SATPC.. THANKS joe KI4TZ portable FM03 this week FM only.
Really reliable suggestions for several operating systems posted on the SAT TRACKING page at www.work-sat.com http://www.work-sat.com/ for you!
Although most sats don’t require constant Keplerian data updates, the ISS does get repositioned a couple times a month … so try to update your Keps weekly.
And the errors I have made with apps: Make sure time of day and your location are correct foreach session!

Well I know it's above your head Clint. But some of us run linear sats with a 1/4 wave to TX and the arrow for RX. It's good to have some extra power available if needed to work through wet tree leaves, etc. Works very well...

What is the reason for needing 50W in your mobile rig?
Is the over-powering compensating for a poor antenna?

I'm more confused as to why you would " run linear sats with a 1/4 wave to TX and the arrow for RX"
If you got an arrow... ummm use it for both TX and RX.....

Hello Joe,
Try comparing with http://amsat.org.ar/pass
Provides local times, Doppler frequencies, azimuth, elevation, etc.
After initial run, works even without internet on any portable device.
Good luck with the FM birds,

Over the weekend hydro power had many brown outs and outages and today my SATPC32 software failed to work properly...so I bit the bullet and reloaded.
I cannot figure out/understand how to get the rotor to work now (brain fart). It is the Amsat VLB Tracker with a serial interface. When I select the GS-232 interface in the setup it wants parallel ports. I had it working before but not sure how.
The small countdown window that I had pined to the main window I cannot find out how to start it.
Would appreciate any suggestions on these issues.
