I see the Malaysian National News Agency recently ran a report saying the Indonesian Amateur Radio microsat would be launch in 2010. http://www.bernama.com.my/bernama/v5/newsindex.php?id=453179
The IARU Amateur Satellite Frequency Coordination page quotes the power at 5 watts and a 650 km orbit from an ISRO launch so it should be a strong signal. http://www.amsat.org.uk/iaru/formal.asp

With an 8 degree inclination, it'll be a big hit between about 25 degrees North and South. Much outside of that and you'll never see it, but it'll be great for them!

Hi Drew,
Yes I know how fustrating it was in pre-ISS days when the Shuttle was launched into low inclination orbits - little chance of hearing it up in the northern countries such as the UK. But it should give Amateurs in many developing countries a chance to to work the sats using simple equipment and those countries are the future for Amateur Radio.
It's really encouraging to see that the Indonesian national society ORARI and AMSAT-ID have been so successful in working with their national space institute. Lets hope they have a successful launch.
