All,
What's the digi-path for the ISS? Is it RS0ISS-? or just ARISS?
Thanks,
Tony -K2MO
What's the digi-path for the ISS?
UNPROTO CQ VIA ARISS works well for ISS. You'll see RS0ISS-4 in the digi'ed packets. http://www.ariss.net/ is a place to check for examples of packets that were repeated.

JoAnne,
The ARISS path works fine. Was a bit confused when I saw the RS0ISS-4 path on the downlink.
Thanks..

The downlinked ID varies depending on the mode of operation. ARISS will work in all modes so you don't have to change anything when the modes switch.

Hi JoAnne (or anyone...),
This is a really basic question, but I haven't been able to get over the mental block yet. What exactly does this translate to on a Kenwood D-7ag? There's an "unprotocol" field (menu APRS-2-E), which seems to not be the right place. Mine says "APK002".
It would seem that it should go in Packet Path (menu APRS 2-B), which is currently "wide1-1,wide2-2". I expect the "unprotocol" part would be left out, so change the whole wide... string to "CQ VIA ARISS"?
Am I close?
Thanks,
Greg KO6TH

On a D7, you need to set menu APRS 2-B labeled "Packet Path" to "ARISS" That should be all you need if everything else is already working on the ground.
