SAT PROGRAMS AND TIME CHANGE
Hi all, This may be a dumb question, but I'll ask it anyway. While going through the house changing all the clocks for Standard time this morning, I started to think about how most satellite tracking programs automatically change from standard to daylight savings time. With us changing next year to March and November, won't there have to be some sort of change in the software? I'm using Instant Track and have no experience with other programs. So I'm not sure if there is a method to change with them. 73 de Doug........KA8QCU

Unless I issue a new version of InstantTrack to implement the new DST rules, you will have to take over manual control of DST, by making a change to your configuration twice a year.

Doug, I think that the software gets its time from your system clock. If that is the case the developers of your operating system will probably push an update that will change when your computer changes for DST.

Hi Doug, Not normally a problem. The satellite software gets the current time from the PC. Assuming you are running Windows (and I would assume the Mac is the same way), it's all automatic. If there is a change in when daylight savings time begins or ends, Microsoft will include that in a routine update to Windows.

I use InstantTrack with the following configuration of file IT.ini and it works fine automatically in Europe
I have added and uncommented the following line:
timezone = CET-1CST
And here you have how the line has been added in to the file IT.ini

Hi everyone, I am installing a brand new sat station with TS-2000 next week during vacation! I have set of HYGain SAT antennas with boom and also 1.2 and 2.4ghz antennas for the boom. However, I have no idea what to use for coax type. I want to make sure I do this right this time. The runs will be about 50-60feet from antennas. I have mast mount preamps for UHF.
So what would someone recommend? Anyone have any available?
