I am getting erratic direction readings from my 5400 az rotor. I am sure it is the pot for the direction. Has anyone done sugery on this unit. Wha should I do and not do. thanks

I fixed a 5400 many years ago by soldering the rivets on the internal pot, and it worked for years after....may or may not help yours...
