Kenwood USA has no idea exactly when their new HF/6M and new HT will be available for sale in the US.
The new handheld (informally "replacing" the TH-D7AG) is expected to be intro'd in 2010. It will have APRS / Kenwood Sky Command / TNC / DX Packet Cluster / GPS.
Kenwood USA has no further information at this time - neither features nor ETA.

On a related topic, does anyone know of other HTs whose frequency can be controlled through the serial port like the TH-D7A? How about mobile units, especially dual frequency ones? I'm working on that micro-controller full doppler tuning and would like to know what viable targets there are outside the FT-817.
