Yes, it can be done. I ran old Wilson 500 (azimuth) for years with the LVB tracker after modifying its control box. The rotor finally gave out. The Yaesu G-1000 rotor would be a good challenge. I would try to use the design of the 5500 circuit as it seems to work really well with the LVB tracker.
