May I recommend Gadwin Print Scren?

You can find the freeware version at the bottom of the page.
I use it for several years.
It can be configured so, that you can mark even a rectangular area of the sreen and you can save it for analysis or just for a collection.
As for me I collect similar pictures...

Thanks, Andras, for this information. My original post was probably not clear enough. I was looking for a way to get the signal-to-noise and highest-volume-frequency *data* from an audio stream, like the data that appears in on the screen in spectran.
