True bearings vs. magnetic
I recently saw a question about this, but missed the answer. Being a newbie to sats also, I was wondering about that too. I assume it’s true bearings, because if it were magnetic, that would entail everyone to calculate the declination from there locale. So is it true?

Yes, you want "Map North" and not "Magnetic North".
The USGS lists magnetic deviation needed to correct your compass readings. In Southern California I had to make a 12.5* correction. Here in Northern Colorado it's only 8.5*.

Imagine if you were in Alaska, true north and magnetic north are 20 degrees off
