At the request of several following my late night post, set forth below is the list I copied off this or the VX-8 listserv. I have added the new Alinco. I do not think this list is complete so others please feel free to add to it.

True; This list would be a good start. I suggest a table with mode capabilities and frequency bands, both standard and optional.

Since some of the radios suggested are 'old', a column about sub-tones available would be helpful. Also computer interface.

Hi!
Another HT for the "list" would be the IC-Z1A. This was a 2m/70cm dual-bander with a detachable control head/mic, which used the same accessories as the IC-W32A. I picked up a couple of them a few months ago, left one in Mexico as a complete portable station for the FM satellites (along with another complete station using an FT-8800 mobile radio instead of an HT), and still have the second IC-Z1A at home that I need to do something with.
Like with the IC-W32A and many other Icom 2m/70cm radios of that time sold in North America, the IC-Z1A does not transmit below 440 MHz without a mod. It works well without modification on the current FM satellites (AO-27, AO-51, SO-50), but the mod is needed for the normal ISS cross-band voice repeater and for use on the 70cm band that most of the world outside the USA and Canada has.
