Another theory regarding the Fermi Paradox
The following paper "A Necro-Biological Explanation for the Fermi Paradox" appeared on the physics preprint server this morning:

The Fermi Paradox asks, if there are other intelligent civilizations in the galaxy, why have they not come to visit us?

You would think that any intelligence with the technology to travel between the stars in a reasonable amount of time would certainly have the technology (and wisdom) to hide from us. I sometimes wonder about my pug and cat sometimes anyway.
