Sorry to learn of Robin's untimely passing. I was executive vice president when he was president, which also entailed my being acting president during the loss and subsequent partial recovery of AO -40. He and I didn't always agree, but I was in a position to see the many ways in which AMSAT benefited from his wisdom and strong leadership. He was instrumental in building the close relationship that now exists between AMSAT and IARU, as well as in guiding the organization through the difficult times that followed AO-40. AMSAT, and amateur radio, are better off because of Robin's presence among us.

I am also saddened by Robin's passing. He was the only AMSAT president I ever had a satellite contact with.
