It's been active at times; apparently a work-in-progress.
Here's the most recent update I've seen, from a tweet this morning from KE8FZT (@AndrewBNortham):
------ Nice clean telemetry sounds from AO-27! Almost went back inside then N3UC turned on the voice repeater! Thanks for the QSO!!! Another new bird in the bag. Only heard one other op on the pass... He was only turning it on at 1 minute increments... ------

Used to be one of my favorite satellites... My son wrote a nice Java app that ran on any platform and would give the transponder schedule, current and future.
Haven't corresponded with Michael (N3UC, control op) about it since probably 2014... thought they had given up trying to recover it.
