I wrote an article on modification back in 2005 for the local club mag that I'll send you off list detailing the conversion.

Hi Tim, A friend gave me a 130415, which has had some modification... I'd sure like a copy of your mod article for comparison.

From what I've found so far, they had already changed the crystal,

disconnected the comb filter, and changed out the voltage regulator... perhaps more that I didn't recognize.
