I want to learn more about amateur operations on 1.2 GHz and the rest of the microwave bands. Could someone provide me with some links for some research and materials?

Hi, Jim. I can highly recommend the ARRL UHF/Microwave Experimenter's Manual ($20 from arrl.org). Good luck; welcome into the world of microwaves!
