You are correct Aiden. This list is about amateur radio satellites. I've been doing mostly the basic FM birds with a handheld and an Arrow antenna. I can also download the SSTV pix from the ISS with this setup. I use an old Yaesu 2m all-mode to do APRS/packet with the ISS. The antenna is a turnstile, which I don't recommend, but it works, mostly. As a relative newcomer, what have you worked on with respect to the satellites? Steve AI9IN

Just joined this list last week. I got licensed in may of last year. I’m not sure people understand how immensely discouraging this is to someone new to the hobby, and even newer to the satellite sub hobby. I signed up hoping there would be satellite discussion, not political discussion.

DEI simply stands for "Didn't Earn It"

I live in a sheltered live. I have for years though DEI stood for Dale Earnhardt Incorporated. not sure what the fuss was all about.

Even the most civilized mailing lists sometimes go off into the weeds. Most email clients, and even online readers such as Gmail, have the ability to create filters based on words in incoming email. I long ago created a filter called BORING which routes suspect email containing a word or phrase to a BORING folder. That way, I can check to see if something of value to me slipped through. For instance, if I add DEI, I don't see the messages unless I specifically look there. I can then delete them unread if I so desire. FWIW

Is there a way to opt-out of email deliveries of certain conversations on this Forum?

You have been offensive to almost everyone in the AMSAT community for years. Deal with it. DEI is dead.

While listening to a live broadcast of an attempted ARISS contact this morning, I was thoroughly embarrassed by a fellow ham in the chat room who was making smart ass comments. Things like, "Hey did you check your system beforehand?" and "Maybe you have the wrong antenna on the wrong feed line." It was insulting to not only the ham crew who set it up, but also to the kids, I'm sorry, the students involved and the rest of the world.
Just rubbed this old man the wrong way.

PS But then I received an invitation to speak to one of the best amateur clubs in North America - serving their public for about 94 years ... so my blood oressure went back down to near-normal.
