Request for online sources of antenna modeling stuff
Hello All,
My wife (n8kpl) is taking a mathmatical modeling class, and she is looking for sites that talk about modeling of antennas. Since this is a math class, finding programs that do it isn't quite enough, since she has to do the work. I'm not finding what much stuff online. Thus I am asking on these two lists for help in finding stuff. An online course in antenna modeling would be great, finding formulas and practical experience would be great too. I'm thinking of yagi antennas as a good choice. We're looking at books as well so if you have favorites, that would be good to know.
I have an interest in this myself, so this isn't just trying to get data for a school project. ;-)
Thanks all,

"Antennas" (2nd edition), a book by John Kraus (W8JK), has a good section on the method of moments, often used in antenna modeling. You can find a copy at most technical libraries. Not quite on line, but reliable.
Volume 1 (I think Vol 1, this is from memory) of the NEC-2 users manual has a good tutorial on the mathematics behind the model. Green's Functions and all that.
The ARRL has a course in antenna modeling it starts every month. Costs $85 though and I am not sure how much math it has. I suspect not much. Let us know if you need more leads.
Does your wife's prof know you are doing the leg work for her homework for her? :^)= - Dr. MEgacycle KK6MC/5

Steve,
The ARRL course is a good one. It has no math. If you have the time I would recommend it. The online tutors are knowledgeable. It appears to be based on Cebiks materials. I used it with NEC-Win+. Wish I had more time to put toward studying.
